Privacy Policy

Effective date: 25 September 2026

The short version

Who we are

Sublogy is a learning application for school students, operated by Sublogy Technologies Private Limited, India. This policy covers our website, our web application, and our iOS and Android apps.

How accounts are created

There is no sign-up inside the app. Student accounts are created and managed by their school. The school provides the information needed to create an account and determines who is authorized to use the service and for how long.

Because Sublogy is designed for school students, we do not ask students to independently provide personal information to create an account.

What we collect

We do not ask for a phone number, home address, photograph, date of birth or location. The app does not use the camera, microphone, contacts or location, and never asks permission to.

Sublogy Buddy

Sublogy Buddy helps a student understand the worked example or lesson they are studying. To answer a question, Sublogy sends the third-party AI service the question typed by the student, the relevant lesson material, and the topic being studied.

We do not send the student's name, username, school name, account identifier or other direct account identifiers to the AI service as part of the Buddy request.

Our agreement with the AI provider does not permit Sublogy data to be used to train its models.

Buddy is restricted to the lesson or topic being studied, and its replies are screened for material unsuitable for children before they are shown.

Sublogy Buddy conversations are held only in the app while it is open, and are not stored on our servers.

There is one exception. A student can report a Buddy conversation from inside the app. Reporting sends us that conversation and we retain a copy of it, because we cannot look into a report without reading what was said. A member of the Sublogy team reviews it — to check the reply was safe and appropriate, and to improve how Buddy answers. A reported conversation is kept only for as long as that review and any resulting fix require, and is then deleted. Nothing is reported automatically: this happens only when a student chooses it.

How CUBALE learns

CUBALE (Concept Understanding Based Adaptive Learning Engine) helps Sublogy choose questions that match a student's learning progress.

To improve CUBALE, we use assessment information such as whether an answer was correct, the number of attempts, how recently a concept was practiced, which question was asked, and the concept being assessed.

We do not use a student's name, username or school name to train CUBALE.

CUBALE learns patterns from assessment data to understand how concepts are learned and which questions are appropriate at different stages of learning. It is designed to learn about concepts and learning patterns, not about individual children.

A student's individual learning progress is used by Sublogy during normal app operation to select appropriate questions for that student.

What we do not do

Who else sees the data

The student's school — teachers see the progress of students in their own classes. Our cloud infrastructure providers, which process and store data on our behalf in India. The AI service described above, for Sublogy Buddy only. And anyone the law requires us to tell. Nobody else.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Data is stored in India and is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

An account lasts as long as the school's subscription. When a school ends its subscription, or asks us to remove a student, we delete that student's personal data within 90 days.

A Buddy conversation that a student has reported is kept separately from this, for as long as the review of that report requires, and is deleted once it is resolved.

Student privacy, and your rights

Sublogy is designed for school students, including students who may be under the age of 18. We therefore take particular care to minimise the personal information we collect and to provide a safe learning environment.

We recommend that Sublogy is used with adult involvement. Sign-in details are issued by the school, and we expect a parent, guardian or teacher to help the student sign in and supervise their use of the app.

Schools create and manage student accounts and can see the learning progress of students in their classes.

We do not use student data for advertising or behavioral tracking, and we do not sell or rent personal data.

A parent, guardian or school can ask us at any time to show what we hold about a student, correct it, or delete it. For a student with a school account, please ask the school first — they administer the account and can often act immediately. You are also welcome to contact us directly, and we will respond within 30 days. Step-by-step instructions are on our Account & Data Deletion page.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form, and all traffic is encrypted. Access to production systems is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. If a change materially affects how we handle student data, we will tell schools directly rather than rely on this page being noticed.
